Lactic Acid – A by-product of the fermentation process, it is far less concentrated than tartaric or malic acid.

Lees – This is mostly the leftovers from the crushing and pressing of grapes, mostly seeds, skin, pulp and stem.

Legs – Swish the wine around the glass and down the sides the wine will form legs, strands of wine dripping down the side of the glass, the further apart the higher the alcohol.

Luscious – Used to describe rich fruit flavours with balanced acids and a lengthy finish.
