They play a part in the aging process of wine as well as its colour. Tart – A term for describing high acidity in a wine, similar to sharp. Tartrates – Deposits that separate from the wine during fermentation and aging. Toasty – Refers to the well developed honey oak taste that is present in mature oaked Semillon and Chardonnay. Triage – In wine terms it is about sorting the grapes by variety and quality. |
