Regional Cellars - About Us
I am constantly asked, “Why do you like wine so much?” For me the answer is… Wine is the only drink I know of that is different from one bottle to the next. I have yet to taste two wines that are exactly the same, this makes it an adventure each time I have a glass in front of me! There is one other reason I love wine… I love the passion and dedication shown by winemakers. The genuine pride winemakers possess for their work make this a truly exceptional industry. Before Regional Cellars was born I constantly sought more exciting wines similar to those I had tried on my various excursions to the cellar doors in my local district of Pokolbin, in the Hunter Valley. With this new thirst to educate my somewhat limited palate and wine knowledge, I was soon engaged in what was to be an enlightening and exciting ride into the world of wine. After years of study and research I have developed a genuine passion for the wine industry and have thankfully found a niche to work within. We have created Regional Cellars, which is in essence my vision of the Australian wine industry. Regional Cellars offers a helping hand to smaller boutique wineries that seem to get overlooked in the bottle shops; those that miss out on the spotlight aimed at the bigger players in the market. We provide access to wineries from all over Australia and make sure that some of the best regional examples are at your fingertips. Regional Cellars is a destination for people who are interested, like myself, in the many facets of the industry. The website is a growing educational tool for providing information on many things, from the basics of wine appreciation and tasting, to understanding how varieties and regions can impact the taste of wine. When paired with access to this knowledge, enjoying a glass of wine can be enhanced to a unique interactive experience, adding that something special to every bottle available through Regional Cellars. As I meet more winemakers and wine-enthusiasts, and as I am introduced to more fantastic Australian wines, the Regional Cellars website will continue to grow and adapt- bringing to you a magnificent diverse range of wines including some of the best Australia has to offer and allowing you to really Let your Palate Roam Australia.
